Question: Do we need passports / visas to travel to the EU?

Answer: UK and ROI passport holders do not require a visa for travel within the EU

You must have a valid standard 10-year passport, which must be valid until at least the end of your holiday.

Please note that legislation introduced in 1998 requires all children not already included on a valid 10 year passport to hold their own passport to travel abroad. You should always keep a separate record of the number, date and place of issue of your passport in case of loss. In addition, it is helpful to take a photocopy of your passport details with you, but to keep it in a separate place, just incase your passport is lost.
