Places to See
Located on the south-western corner of Portugal, the Algarve marks the south west tip of mainland Europe. Visit the towering 75m high cliffs at Cape St. Vincent and see the marvellous lighthouse that warns seafarers of dangers from 60 miles away. While the main city of the Algarve is Faro, Lagos is a more attractive place to visit and has a fantastic bay for safe bathing and water sports.
Great Outdoors
A little known and often overlooked feature of the Algarve area is its fascinating landscape; for example the protected lagoon between Faro and Tavira showcases remnants of the past, including shipwrecks, within the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. The region is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is home to many campsites in the Algarve.
Especially for the Kids
The Algarve boasts one of Portugal’s leading water parks, Aqualand. Just north of Albufeira, this amazing water park cover 6 hectares with rides such as the Anaconda, the Kamikaze and Banzai Boggan, an exciting day out for adults and children alike. Further attractions include Omega Wildlife Conservative Park, a safari park that works to conserve endangered species and offers breathtaking views of the Algarve countryside.
Getting to the Algarve
Most visitors from the UK get to the Algarve via Faro Airport, served by daily flights from across the UK and Europe at reasonable prices. The airport is located just 4km from Faro centre where local transport options leave for most resorts within the Algarve, including Lagos. The journey between Faro Airport and Lagos is around 90km and takes approximately one hour by road.

“This was our second time at La Garangeoire. The Campsite itself was super safe, completely chilled out and immaculately clean. We were delighted to see Sue & Richard still there. They are so helpful and a real pleasure to deal with. Nothing is too much trouble for them. There is plenty for the kids to do day and evening and every where on the site is safe for the kids of all ages. We really had such a fantastic time and would highly recommend La Garangeoire.”

I found EuroResorts extremely friendly & very helpful to work with. We had all the information needed before we went, directions to campsite were very clear. The campsite La Torre del Sol was very clean. I was highly impressed with the high level of maintenance of the grass & grounds. The staff at reception & in all the restaurants / bars couldn’t have been more kind & helpful. The mobile home was very clean & neat. I felt very secure & safe on the premises. We are quiet eager to book our campsite for next year & would love to travel with EuroResorts again!”
